Seven from Traverse area in Middle East

Seven people from Traverse for Peace are interviewing Palestinians and Israeli's about the "Road Map to Peace." Arriving October 20, some plan to remain four weeks.

They are listening to Israeli's and Palestinians on the streets. Their questions pertain to change, the impact of the separation fences or walls, what people want to say to U.S. citizens. Using a video camera and
tape recorders, the group will offer the results of their interviews for presentations when they return home.

"Traverse for Peace," affiliated with the Michigan Peace Team, prepares local people for domestic and international peace team actions. Members of this delegation are, Randy Bond, mechanical engineer and Kay Bond, former Alaska magistrate, of Beulah; Rebecca Glotfelty, documentary producer, from Charlevoix; Marian Kromkowski, Suttons Bay, lawyer, mediator and co-founder of Mideast Just Peace; Susan Lavender, builder, former educator, from Honor; Patricia Odernheimer, former staff member of the World Health Organization, and Bernhard Odernheimer, Ph.D., German diplomat who worked on Chemical Weapons Negotiations at the Hague, both from Copemish.

This is Randy Bond's sixth trip to Israel and the West Bank since l995. Rebecca Glotfelty worked for two years in the Middle East.
